Real Estate and Corporate Law Firm seeking an experienced Law Clerk for a full-time position. Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years experience in residential real estate, and be proficient in the use of Teraview, Unity, and MSOffice. Corporate Law experience an asset. Furthermore, applicants must be professional, recognize that confidentiality and discretion is critical, but most importantly, be able to laugh, love dogs, and enjoy our family friendly office environment.
Duties:
- Manage files from start to finish
- Review purchase and sale agreements and prepare draft closing documents for purchase, sale, and financing residential real estate transactions
- Coordinate closing searches (including searches of title, execution and municipal searches, corporate and Personal Property Act searches)
- Prepare draft letters of requisition and responses
- Communicate with clients, financial institutions, title insurance companies, land registry offices, opposite and third parties
- Obtain and review title insurance policies and endorsements
- Attend to the closing of transactions and electronic registration of title documents
- Maintain files and records in accordance with Firm procedures
- Other duties as assigned
