Researching legislation can be one of the more challenging areas of legal research! Join Brenda Lauritzen, Reference Librarian, as she gives a refresher on the key tasks associated with this type of research. The focus of this session will be on online and widely-available sources, with mention of older print editions. Topics covered will include: - Tracing a section's history
- Point-in-time
- Legislative Intent
- Finding relevant case law
There is no charge for this session, but please register at the link above so you receive the Zoom link the day before! This program is a part of our HeadStart Ottawa series for 2025-2026 licensing candidates, but all members of the legal community are invited to attend. Please note that some content may be geared towards newer lawyers.
