The 34th Annual Institute of Family Law will be held on Friday, April 4, and Saturday, April 5, 2025, so mark your calendars!
Call for Committee Members
The CCLA’s Annual Institute of Family Law Planning Committee is looking for new members. Would you like to join us? The committee is a standing committee of the CCLA’s Board of Trustees, to which it reports through its co-chairs. The Committee's terms of reference can be found here.
The committee typically meets from September until February to plan the conference. In the months leading up to the annual conference, which takes place over two days at Fairmont Le Château Montebello, its members liaise with speakers and organize panel discussions.
The CCLA fosters and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion by promoting the values and principles of equality and equity in its committee selection and programming. When choosing committee members, the CCLA also attempts to ensure, as much as possible, representation by gender, firm size, practice area, and year of call. We encourage and welcome the inclusion of Judges from the region.
We are seeking lawyers who share our passion and knowledge of family law. The Committee meets for one to two hours every three to four weeks for approximately six months of the year. Ideally, you stay abreast of current law, have ideas and proposals for Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and are willing to take on organizational tasks for portions of our program.

The application deadline is Friday, September 6th, 2024. Please note: All applicants must be members in good standing of the CCLA.

Do you have an idea for a paper to be presented at next year’s conference? Please let us know. All suggestions are encouraged and welcomed. If approved by the committee and time allows, they will be incorporated into an upcoming program.
