CCLA New Lawyers & Articling Students Committee - Call for New Members

January 16, 2023
The CCLA New Lawyers & Articling Students Committee is looking for new members. Would you like to join us? The committee is a standing committee of the CCLA’s board of trustees, to which it reports through its Chair.

The committee typically meets from September to February to plan the New Lawyers Summit. Its members liaise with speakers, organize panel discussions, and prepare demonstrations in the months leading up to the summit which takes place usually for a full day in October.

The CCLA fosters and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion by promoting the values and principles of equality and equity in its Committee selection and programming. When choosing Committee members the CCLA also attempts to ensure, as much as possible, that there is representation by gender, firm size, practice area and year of call and we encourage and welcome the inclusion of Judges and Associate Judges from the region.

Our committee is looking for candidates with two to seven years at the Bar, and ideally representing different practice areas: family, criminal, solicitors, and IP.

If you’re interested in joining the committee, please send an email to events@ccla-abcc.ca Please tell us what you would bring to the committee and remember to tell us about your practice and your year of call.

The deadline for applications is 5:00 pm on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.

Thank you!

Please note: All applicants must be members in good standing of the CCLA.
