Call for New Members: CCLA Membership Services Committee

November 8, 2021
The CCLA’s Membership Services Committee is looking for members. This Committee will assist the Board in fulfilling its obligations to the members in accordance with several key objectives of the CCLA Mission Statement. The Committee’s overall mandate is to provide strategic advice and guidance to the Board of Trustees and CCLA Committees on membership matters within our region. The Terms of Reference can be found here.

This Committee reports to the CCLA Board of Trustees. It is anticipated that the Committee will meet on a monthly basis.

We are looking for dedicated Committee members to assist with expansion and retention of the CCLA’s membership. All practice areas are welcome, with a special invitation being extended to lawyers in public service, members of the immigration and refugee bar, and junior members of the bar.

The CCLA fosters and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion by promoting the values and principles of equality and equity in its Committee selection and programming. When choosing Committee members, the CCLA also attempts to ensure, as much as possible, that there is representation by gender, firm size, practice area, and year of call and we encourage and welcome the inclusion of Judges, Masters, Family Law service providers and Paralegals from the region.

If you’re interested in joining the Committee, please send an email to Curtis Ellwood at cellwood@ccla-abcc.ca. Tell us how you would contribute to the work, and constitution, of the Committee and provide us with a copy of your CV. Do not forget to tell us about your practice and your year of call.

The deadline for applications is November 24, 2021.

Please note: All applicants must be members in good standing of the CCLA.
