2022 Annual Institute of Family Law - Call for New Member & Topic Submissions

The date for the 2022 Annual Institute of Family Law is Friday, April 8 and Saturday, April 9, so mark your calendars! It’s our hope that we will be gathering in-person for the 2022 conference.

Call for Committee Members

The planning committee of the CCLA’s Annual Institute of Family Law is looking for new members. Would you like to join us? The committee is a standing committee of the CCLA’s board of trustees, to which it reports through its co-chairs. Terms of Reference for the Committee can be found here.

The committee typically meets from September until February to plan the conference. Its members liaise with speakers and organize panel discussions in the months leading up to the annual conference which takes place over two days at Fairmont Le Château Montebello.

The CCLA fosters and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion by promoting the values and principles of equality and equity in its Committee selection and programming. When choosing Committee members the CCLA also attempts to ensure, as much as possible, that there is representation by gender, firm size, practice area and year of call and we encourage and welcome the inclusion of Judges and Masters from the region.

We want someone with 15+ years of experience, who is willing to attend one-to-two hour meetings every three to four weeks for approximately six months of the year. Ideally, you’re someone who stays abreast of current law, has ideas and proposals for Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and is willing to take on organizational tasks for portions of our programs.

Do you have an idea for a paper to be presented at next year’s conference? Please let us know. All suggestions are encouraged and welcomed and, if approved by the committee and time allows, will be incorporated into an upcoming program.
