Call for New Members: External Relations Committee

The CCLA’s External Relations Committee is looking for 6 new members. Please consider joining our standing Committee of the CCLA's Board of Trustees, to which it reports through its Chair. The Terms of Reference can be found here.
The Committee’s purpose is to support the Board in managing the CCLA's relations with external entities. This is done by advising the Board and supporting it in maintaining, facilitating and intensifying contact and advocacy with government and organizations whose activities are complementary to or can assist in promoting the strategic objectives of the CCLA which can be found here. These entities, such as the Attorney General of Ontario, the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, the LSO, and the OBA, etc., are identified by the Committee and the Board of Directors from time to time. By supporting the Board in collaborating with these organizations on worthwhile projects or conferences and consultations with them on any significant new developments planned or to be initiated having an impact on the purposes of the CCLA and the justice system writ large.
It is anticipated that the Committee will meet on the first Wednesday of the month from 1:00 to 2:00 pm all year round.
We are looking for dedicated Committee members with experience in any of the following areas: expanding relations with external entitles, policy development, marketing, and public relations.
When choosing Committee members, the CCLA attempts to ensure, as much as possible, that there is representation by firm size, practice area and year of call. It is also the Committee’s goal to ensure that it is diverse.

Please tell us how you would contribute to the work, and constitution, of the Committee and provide us with a copy of your CV. Do not forget to tell us about your practice and your year of call.
