CCLA Award Winners & Umbrella Recipients!

The CCLA is honoured to announce the recipients of this year's CCLA awards.

The Carleton Medal: Stephen Cavanagh
For a lawyer who is most deserving of recognition for great diligence, high ideals and outstanding leadership in the practice of law throughout their career.
This award will be presented at the AGM & Awards Dinner on March 27, 2020.

The Gordon F. Henderson Award: David Taylor
For a lawyer who has made a significant contribution to the welfare of the community by performing charitable services on behalf of the community.
This award will be presented at the AGM & Awards Dinner on March 27, 2020.

The Regional Senior Justice Award: Meaghan Thomas
For a lawyer in practice ten years or less who has made an outstanding contribution through their excellence as a professional, as well as outside the profession by making an outstanding contribution to the community.
This award will be presented at the AGM & Awards Dinner on March 27, 2020.

The Legal Innovator Award: Abraham Feinstein, Q.C.
For someone whose courage, perseverance and/or innovations in the practice of law contributed to the betterment of the profession and/or made it easier for those who followed.
This award will be presented at the AGM & Awards Dinner on March 27, 2020.

The Hon. Heidi Levenson Polowin Award for Family Law: The Hon. Maria Linhares de Sousa
For someone who has made an outstanding contribution to the practice of family law through their career, whether as a litigator, solicitor, judge and/or alternative dispute resolution neutral.
This award will be presented at the Annual Institute of Family Law in April.

The Abe Feinstein Solicitor Award: J. Peter Vice, Q.C.
For a solicitor who has distinguished themselves throughout their career by exemplary service to the Association and to the profession and has shown commitment to the community.
This award will be presented at the East Region Solicitors Conference in May.

50 Years at the Bar Umbrella Recipients

At every Awards Dinner, we recognize members of our community who have celebrated the 50th anniversary of their call to the Bar in the previous calendar year. This year, we honour the following members of the Class of 1969:
