CCLA New Lawyers & Articling Students Committee - Call for New Members
June 11, 2019
The CCLA New Lawyers & Articling Students Committee is looking for new members. Would you like to join us? The committee is a standing committee of the CCLA’s board of trustees, to which it reports through its Chair.
The committee typically meets from January to June to plan an annual New Lawyers & Articling Students Summit. Its members liaise with speakers, organize panel discussions, and prepare demonstrations in the months leading up to the summit which usually takes place for a full day in October.
The CCLA fosters and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion by promoting the values and principles of equality and equity in its Committee selection and programming. When choosing Committee members, the CCLA also attempts to ensure, as much as possible, that there is representation by gender, firm size, practice area and year of call and we encourage and welcome the inclusion of Judges and Masters’ from the region.
Our committee is looking for candidates with three to seven years at the Bar, and representing different practice areas: family, criminal, solicitors, civil litigation, and IP.
If you’re interested in joining the committee, please send an email to Jennifer Thompson at Jthompson@ccla-abcc.ca. Please tell us what you would bring to the committee and do not forget to tell us about your practice and your year of call.
The deadline for applications is Thursday, June 27, 2019.
Please note: All applicants must be members in good standing of the CCLA.
