Will Check: Call for Advisory Committee Members
May 1, 2018
The CCLA has established a new Advisory Board for our Will Check program. Will Check was launched in 2017 and provides a will information registry for lawyers. As the CCLA works to expand the awareness and use of the service to lawyers throughout the province, we are convening an Advisory Committee to advise CCLA staff in the ongoing development, evaluation, improvement, and promotion of the Will Check service and website.
The Advisory Committee's terms of reference can be found here. The committee advises CCLA Library staff, who will report to the Board of Trustees as required.
We are looking for lawyers with an estates practice for this Advisory Committee. When choosing committee members the CCLA attempts to ensure, as much as possible, that there is representation by: gender, size of firm, Ottawa and the surrounding east region, and newer and senior lawyers. CCLA fosters a culture of diversity and inclusion by enabling the values and principles of equality and equity in its programs.
If you are interested in this committee, please submit your name and information on your practice and suitability for this role to Jennifer Walker – firstname.lastname@example.org.
The deadline for applications is May 16, 2018.
Please note: All applicants must be members in good standing with the CCLA.
