Help Fight Community Hunger: Annual Courthouse Food Bank Drive

March 2, 2017

Monday, March 6 to Friday, March 10, 2017

Please join us again this year in the fight against community hunger by supporting the Ottawa Food Bank. The Ottawa Food Bank provides emergency food to over 41,500 people in our community each month, 36% of those being children.

How to Donate

In Person: Please bring in non-perishable food items or cash during the week of Monday, March 6 to Friday, March 10, 2017 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM to our table in the first floor atrium or to our friendly volunteers on the second door just past security. Temporary tax receipts will be given out for all cash donations over $20.00. For every $1 you donate, the Food Bank turns that into $5 worth of food.

Online: Another great and easy way to make a contribution to the Courthouse Food Bank Drive is through the Ottawa Food Bank's online donation platform! Click here to donate online - you can select grocery and other items from the online shopping platform, or select "Skip and Donate" to make a simple cash donation.

Firm Competition Challenge: The Firm Competition Challenge is open to any firm of any size and all you have to do to register is contact Rick Haga (rhaga@ccla-abcc.ca) to sign up! Encourage everyone in your firm to donate cash or food during the week of the Food Drive, March 6 to 10 and then at the end of the week let us know how well you did. We can arrange for cash collection containers and boxes to be delivered to your office and then picked up once the campaign is completed. It’s as easy as that and for a great cause!

If you would prefer, we also welcome donations sent over from law offices. These donations can be delivered to the CCLA Library (room 2004) at 161 Elgin Street; cheques can be made payable to "Ottawa Food Bank." We will include all donations sent this way in our total for the week, so consider an office-wide contribution!

Last year we raised $10,588.20 and donated 370 LBS of food - let’s try to break last year’s total!

We'd like to thank in advance those people who will generously be donating their time at the Food Bank Drive tables next week:

  • Monday: Soloway Wright LLP
  • Tuesday: Ian McBride & Friends from MBC Law Professional Corporation
  • Wednesday: Susan Mitchell & Friends from TS Lawyers
  • Thursday: Karen Ann Reid & Friends from the DCAO
  • Friday: Lisa Sharp & Friends from the Family Bar

Thank you for all your support - we look forward to seeing you next week!
