Call for Committee Members: East Region Solicitors Conference Planning Committee
September 18, 2015
The CCLA Solicitors’
Conference Planning Committee is seeking members. We would like the committee
to include lawyers who represent a cross-section of the East Region solicitors’
Bar (including both inside and outside Ottawa – teleconferences can be arranged),
including at least one lawyer who has been practising for 10 years or less. The committee is a
standing committee of the CCLA, accountable to the CCLA’s Board of Trustees, to
which it reports through its co-chairs. The committee typically meets every
three weeks, from September until February, with ongoing activities leading up
to the conference in May. Committee members are responsible for setting the
program of the conference, arranging speakers and panelists, approving the conference
logistics, and recruiting attendees. If you are interested in joining the
committee, please send an email to Jennifer Thompson at the CCLA (jthompson@ccla-abcc.ca) to let us know. Include
in your message what you would bring to the committee and be sure to mention your
year of call and to describe the nature of your practice. Please feel
free to include any other information you might feel appropriate. The deadline for
applications is Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 5:00 PM. Please note: All applicants must be
members in good standing of the CCLA. Thank you! Kathleen Robichaud and
Paul Taylor Co-chairs, CCLA East
Region Solicitors Conference Planning Committee
