Alternative Business Structures (ABS) Town Hall Meeting

The CCLA is hosting a town hall to address the discussion paper authored by the Law Society Alternative Business Structures (ABS) Working Group, which considers developments regarding alternative legal service delivery models and structures across the globe and advances proposed models for ABS in Ontario.
The documents, including the discussion paper, authored by the Law Society are available for your information and review at the following links: The CCLA has been monitoring the Law Society’s approach to ABS closely and has convened a working group, comprised of representatives from a variety of practice areas, to respond to the discussion paper on behalf of its membership. This is an open invitation from the CCLA to all members of the legal profession to attend the town hall on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Jury Assembly room at the Courthouse (161 Elgin Street, Ottawa). Members of the Law Society working group on ABS and other legal practitioners will be in attendance to speak about the discussion paper and ABS generally.
