The CCLA is excited to welcome the many new summer, articling, and LPP students in the Ottawa area each year. On this page, you can find direct links to the information you'll want and need over the term of your summer placement or your articling year.
Tours are not currently available due to the COVID-19 health emergency.
New to Ottawa? Haven't visited the CCLA Library before? Consider stopping by for a tour of the Gordon F. Henderson Library! Each spring and summer, we offer tours to summer, articling, and LPP students. You can schedule a tour at a time that works for you by emailing Brenda Lauritzen.
Tours last approximately 15 minutes.
You can check out all the services and resources the Library has to offer you in our Library section.
HeadStart Ottawa: Legal Research for Articling & LPP Students
The CCLA Library offers a legal research training session exclusively for each year's new articling and LPP students, called HeadStart Ottawa. The 2020 edition will take place virtually in late summer. Stay tuned for details!
New Lawyers, Articling Students & Paralegals Summit
Taking into account the demands on your time, both professionally and personally, the CCLA has organized a one-day, in-town summit, with content devoted entirely to what new lawyers, articling students, and paralegals need to know. The CCLA New Lawyers
and Articling Students committee has developed a full-day program, and had presenters that included distinguished members of our bar, local Judges, and key court staff. The 2018 Summit was held on March 2, 2018. Thanks to all that attended!
