CCLA Technology Committee: Call for New Members

March 7, 2018

The CCLA ‘s Technology Committee needs to rejuvenate!

The Technology Committee is a standing committee of the CCLA’s Board of Trustees, to which it reports through its chair/co-chairs. Terms of Reference for the Committee can be found here.

If you have a keen interest in everything social media and new tech tools and trends then this is the committee for you! We are looking to fill several committee positions including Chair / Co-chair with energetic members who are interested in finding creative ways to add value to CCLA membership through technology.

The mandate of the Technology Committee is to evaluate the technology needs and interests of our membership with a view to finding innovative ways to provide information, resources and educational opportunities that support the provision of legal services and access to justice. The Committee has broad functions and responsibilities which include monitoring evolving technology trends and innovations in the legal world and developing plans and strategies to supply CCLA members with practical advice on tech trends and software that may be useful to the practice of law.

The CCLA fosters and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion by promoting the values and principles of equality and equity in its Committee selection and programming. When choosing Committee members the CCLA also attempts to ensure, as much as possible, that there is representation by gender, firm size, practice area and year of call and we encourage and welcome the inclusion of Judges and Masters from the region!

If you think you might be interested in joining the CCLA’s Technology Committee, please send an email to Rick Haga at rhaga@ccla-abcc.ca. Please tell us what you would bring to the committee and do not forget to tell us about your practice and your year of call.

The deadline for applications is Friday, March 23, 2018.

Please note: All applicants must be members in good standing with the CCLA.
