CCLA Continuing Professional Development Accreditation Committee Call for New Members
February 26, 2018
The CCLA Continuing Professional Development Accreditation committee is in need of two members.
The committee is a standing committee of the CCLA’s board of trustees, to which it reports through its chair. The terms of reference for this committee can be found here.
This committee does not hold meetings. Members are responsible for reviewing content of the CCLA’s educational programs. Committee members determine whether the presented material qualifies for accreditation in line with the criteria set forth by the Law Society of Ontario. We have representatives for the Family, Litigation, Criminal and Solicitors Bars.
If you are a lawyer with at least seven years in practice, have experience in preparing accreditation applications for legal education, or experience in planning legal education programs, then we're looking for you. Specifically, we are looking for a lawyer with a Family Law background and another lawyer with a Solicitors background. If you think you might be interested in joining the committee, please send an email to Jennifer Thompson at email@example.com.
When choosing committee members the CCLA attempts to ensure, as much as possible, that there is representation by: gender, size of firm, Ottawa and the surrounding east region, newer and senior lawyers, and inclusion of Judges and Masters from the region. CCLA fosters a culture of diversity and inclusion by enabling the values and principles of equality and equity in its programs.
The deadline for applications is Friday, March 9, 2018.
Please note: All applicants must be members in good standing with the CCLA.
