De-mystified and Simplified: LSO Compliant Trust Reconciliation and Bookkeeping Guidelines

The CCLA Paralegal Committee and uLaw Practice Management invite you to this informative CPD.  Join us on Wednesday, February 19th to learn about the reconciliation process and how to do trust and general account reconciliations.  The team from uLaw will take you step by step through the process, all in compliance with Law Society regulations.

By doing your reconciliation on time, you will see how long or little time it takes to be prepared for an audit. You will learn the audit process and the core aspects of what a spot audit looks like, all from the perspective of a practitioner. It’s always a good idea to be audit-ready and this seminar will prepare you for the “Financial Management” process, long before any problems arise.

In the second hour of the course attendees will learn about bookkeeping guidelines as set out by the Law Society including: understanding how trust and general ledgers work; receipt and disbursement journals reconciliation; and how the process can best be simplified.

Finally, this program will review several other compliance related documents such as fee books, expense books, Form 9A, deposit slips, etc.  Find out why it’s important that firms maintain these records.

This program has been accredited for 1 hour and 40 minutes of Professionalism content.

This program is also eligible for up to 20 minutes of Substantive content.
