The CCLA Diversity Committee will be gathering at the Ottawa courthouse in the CCLA Rideau & Nepean Boardroom on Monday, September 30, 2019 from 1:15 – 2:15pm for a viewing of Wawahte: Stories of Residential School Survivors. Opening and closing remarks will be given by Virginia Lomax, who acted as counsel for the Native Women’s Association of Canada during the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. All are welcome to attend.

Orange Shirt Day is an opportunity for Indigenous families and their communities, local government, schools and communities to come together in the spirit of remembrance and reconciliation.

In recognition of Orange Shirt Day, the CCLA Diversity Committee is inviting everyone; lawyers; paralegals, support staff, articling students, and law and paralegal students to wear orange to work on Monday, September 30.
