How To Do a Family Trial

Trial experiences come few and far between in a family lawyer’s career making it difficult to obtain the necessary skills to be an exceptional trial advocate.  The CCLA, along with the Family Law Bench & Bar Committee are providing lawyers with the opportunity to argue a mock trial before a Superior Court judge and get effective trial experience.  Participants will call evidence and cross-examine parties and expert witnesses.  Come learn and be mentored from 6 of Ottawa’s top family law advocates.  This two day program will allow participants to learn the theory behind effective trial advocacy, allow time for trial preparation, and on Day 2 argue a full trial in Court.
