CCLA Renovations: January 2018 Services Update

After our December closure, we're happy to announce that select CCLA services have re-opened. Please read below to see which services are currently available. We anticipate this phase of the renovation to continue through the summer.
Library: There are three computers available, complete with access to legal research databases. You can print from these computers. All of the books that will be out during the renovation are now in the Lounge. As always, books are for Courthouse use only – if you wish to take a book to court, please see a CCLA Library staff member to sign the book out. Books are due back to a staff member by 5:00 PM every day. There is one photocopier available for copying and scanning. Library staff are on site, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and can also be reached by phone or email. Their offices, along with a "front desk," will be just through the doors that connect the Lounge and the Library. For studying, there are a few tables in the Lounge, but nothing available in the Library itself. This is a temporary measure and we’ll have more space available later this year.
Please note that the old "main doors” to the library are no longer in service. The only entrance to the Library is through the Lounge, and while we acknowledge this does make it more difficult to find us, and harder to get in if you do not have a code, this is just temporary. The main entrance will be open again later this year. Contact us if you need the code for the Lounge.
We have now moved to a cashless system at the CCLA. Photocopies, printing, faxes, and all other CCLA fees must now be paid by debit, cheque, or credit (Visa, Mastercard, American Express). We will still offer accounts to local firms and offices for invoicing library fees. If your firm does not have an account but would like to set one up, please contact our Finance Administrator Wanda Walters at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Lounge: As the Lounge is now home to three rows of bookshelves, it will no longer be suitable for large group meetings. There is still plenty of seating, however, and all the coat cabinets are still in place.
Events: All 2018 events will be taking place as planned. As usual, new events will be announced on our website and through our email service. Events staff will not be on site during renovations. Please contact email@example.com for any matters related to CCLA events.
Membership and Association Services: Membership staff are on site Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 4:30, to assist with matters related to membership, such as membership cards and locker rentals.
Payments to the CCLA can be made online, by cheque through the mail, or in person via cheque, credit, or debit. There will be no cash accepted for bill payments.
