Town Hall to Discuss the Bonkalo Report and its Recommendations

March 28, 2017
The County of Carleton Law Association (CCLA) invites all family law practitioners and paralegals to a Town Hall Meeting to discuss Justice Bonkalo’s recently released report to the Attorney General and the Law Society of Upper Canada entitled “Family Legal Services Review.” The Town Hall will take place on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM in the Jury Assembly Room on the 3rd floor of the Ottawa Courthouse.

The report makes 21 recommendations, and can be viewed at this link.

The purpose of the Town Hall Meeting is to gather positive and constructive feedback from the family law bar and paralegals as to the issues faced in the practice of family law and specifically access to justice issues for litigants.

The CCLA will be drafting a response to this report, which is due May 15th. Your input is vital to this process. If you cannot attend and wish to be involved in this process, please contact Mimi Marrello (at mimi@altdivorcenepean.com) or Jennifer Jolly (at jjoly@familyjustice.ca) with your comments.
