    Anticipation: Preparing for Your Practice Management Review
     
    Note:  This presentation has been accredited by the Law Society of Upper Canada for 2.0 Professionalism Hours!
    Worried about your upcoming practise management review?  This session will provide sole practitioners with information 
    about what to expect during the Practise Management Review process.  Craig O’Brien, Nelligan O’Brien Payne LLP,
    will join us to speak about professional liability for sole practitioners.  As well, several Ottawa area sole practitioners
    will share their experiences with this process and answer your questions about this important subject.  
    During the second hour, we will examine the Practise Management Guidelines which are available 
    on the Law Society Website at:  http://rc.lsuc.on.ca/jsp/pmg/executiveSummary.jsp.

    Program Outline: 
    This program is intended for counsel of all levels of experience and and is
    not to be missed.   Included in the program is an overview of pre-trial conferences
    with respect to both: a) substantive aspects of the matter; and b) the trial management function. 
    Members of the bench and counsel will discuss preparation of effective  pre-trial
    conference briefs, the use of technology at pre-trial conferences, and what is required
    from all participants in the conference - including counsel, judges, masters, and clients - 
    for a meaningful pre-trial conference.  The conference materials will include samples of
    effective pre-trial conference briefs.  CPD credits (both professionalism and substantive)
    to be determined.
