Re: E. Jane Murray - Mediation/Arbitration/Conference Services
As many of you know, I have recently joined the firm of Mann Lawyers LLP.
Contemporaneously with the move I have made the decision to shift the focus of my practice.
I will be offering family law mediation and arbitration services and mediation and arbitration services for estate disputes. I will be referring new family and estate litigation files to the other very capable members of our family and estate sections and will also continue to be a mentor for the younger (and sometimes the older) lawyers here at Mann Lawyers LLP.
In 2008 I completed a 40 hour course in Family Law Arbitration, and received certificates of completion from the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies at Conrad Grebel University College and the ADR Institute of Ontario. Since 2008 I have conducted several family arbitrations and maintained my qualifications as required by regulations concerning family law under the Arbitrations Act.
I have also completed training as a mediator and conducted successful family mediations and estate mediations in accordance with the requirements of the Rules of Civil Procedure.
In addition to mediations and arbitrations, I am available to conduct settlement conferences as contemplated by Family Law Rules 17(9) and 17(9.1). These rules allow for settlement conferences to be conducted by a non-judge. Regional Senior Justice McNamara has authorized anyone with the qualifications described by Rule 17(9.1) to conduct a settlement conference. The parties simply have to file a confirmation form with the court once the conference has been completed. With the current backlog in dates for settlement conferences, a private conference is a good option to consider for your client.
Our offices include a number of meeting rooms appropriate for conducting mediations and arbitrations.

Yours very truly,
E. Jane Murray
